I’m pleased to announce the launch of a new working group on ethical podcasting practices, in collaboration with the Humanities Podcast Network (HPN).
Rapid technological changes have made it easier than ever to create podcasts. Technical how-to information is easily found online, but podcasters wishing to practice their craft in an ethical, caring, and responsible way are often left to handle complex situations on their own. Interested podcast creators, listeners, and academic experts are invited to join a working group to develop best practice guidelines for ethical podcasting.
Join the working group and share your thoughts by completing this Google form.
Participants: The working group is open to indie podcast creators, podcasting professionals, and academic experts in related disciplines. This working group is a collaboration with the Humanities Podcast Network (HPN), but you do not need to be a HPN member or identify as a Humanities podcaster to participate.
Timeline: I anticipate this working group will begin meeting in the fall of 2025 with monthly meetings. Timing of meetings will be decided by group participants.
Deliverable: This group will create a publicly available document of best practices. There is opportunity for cross collaboration with HPN working groups on AI and on pedagogy.
Privacy: Information collected on this form will only be used for the purposes of the working group and will not be shared with external organizations. You may withdraw from the working group and its communications at any time by contacting podcastinghumanities@gmail.com
