I’m very excited to share that the Palgrave Handbook of Humanities Podcasting is progressing and will be available in 2026! This book is the first volume of its kind and it is a massive undertaking with dozens of contributors. Our fearless editors, Beth, Kim, Milan and Saronik, are doing an amazing job bringing things together!
Academic handbooks, unlike the practical type of handbook that most of us are familiar with, provide a snapshot of the state of research in a particular discipline. They are, to quote Palgrave, “high-quality, original reference works that bring together specially-commissioned chapters, cutting-edge research, and the latest review articles in their fields.” They are valuable reference sources for other researchers and fuel future research. Unique to this Handbook, perhaps, is that the editors have asked contributors to incorporate personal experiences with podcasting alongside academic research in our chapters. Each section will also be accompanied by a podcast episode that literally brings the authors into dialogue.
I am pleased to be both a contributor and a section editor in this volume. My chapter appears will appear in the section on theorizing the Humanities podcast, alongside two excellent contributions by Mauricio Oportus and Marina Bantiou. Each section will have an accompanying podcast episode, and I’m excited to record with my colleagues. Their chapters bring interesting and important perspectives to thinking about Humanities podcasting.
Sign up here to be receive email updates when the book will be available. I will also be posting more about the book, my chapter, and my experience in the coming months.
